PIRHL’s mission is to thoughtfully address the acute need and growing demand for affordable housing in America through the development, construction and ownership of high quality single-family and multifamily homes. Whether this means fostering new growth or driving revitalization, PIRHL is committed to the sustainability of today’s communities.
PIRHL is a full-service developer, general contractor and owner of high quality single-family and multi-family housing. PIRHL's approach is predicated on leveraging the unique skills and perspectives of locally based community partners who deeply understand the dynamics and specific needs within their market. By collaborating with some of the most highly accomplished non-profit housing developers in the business, PIRHL’s developments are invariably more exceptional.
To date, the company has developed 40 properties and over 3,500 units, serving clients in the following regions: Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
PIRHL’s integrated approach helps to simplify the development process from conception to completion. Working together, we build lasting relationships with our community-based partners, providing a better product and helping to ensure long-term operational excellence.
PIRHL began under the leadership of the two Davids: Burg and Uram. They began their housing development careers in Cleveland’s nonprofit community and economic development industries which broadened their sensitivity to the needs and constraints of the nonprofit clients they serve today.
David Burg and David Uram, both MBA’s from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management, spent years with an industry-leading for-profit developer and builder of affordable housing, where they honed the expertise necessary to launch PIRHL. What began as a vision in 2004 in a cramped basement has grown to become an organization recognized as one of the Top 50 Affordable Housing Developers in the industry by Affordable Housing Finance Magazine.
